Summer holidays are always a welcome break, and most students look forward to the long days of lazing about and not having to worry about homework.

But if we’re being honest, they can get a bit boring after a while. Sure, playing cricket all day or playing board games all night is fun, but it loses its charm after a while.

So turn your summer vacations into a time of learning new things, and turning your boring summer into a productive one. Here are some tips on how you can make your summer vacations more productive:

1. Read more

Reading might seem boring, but I promise you that once you find a story that you love, you won’t know where the time went.

Books are the best way to gain new information, so you can get books on anything and everything, from learning to make robots to joke books that’ll leave you in stitches.

2. Create an exercise routine

Ugh, another boring tip. But listen, have you ever tried aerobics or hoola-hooping, or even racing your brothers and sisters across the garden? Exercise is an easy way to wake up your mind, and there are so many ways of getting some exercise in your summer vacations.

Things like cycling and swimming count as exercise too, so who said it has to be boring?

3. Learn a new skill

A skill can be anything from learning to embroider to learning a new language or learning to juggle. So try something new, and who knows, maybe you’ll be a master at your new skill in no time.

When school re- opens, you can show off your new skills to all your class fellows.

4. Help your parents around the house

Your parents do a lot for you, from cooking to changing new bulbs to going to buy groceries. It’s hard work, running a household, and sometimes your parents need a break too.

So why not help them out once in a while. It will help you appreciate your mother and father, and make you grateful for all that they do for you. And who knows, you might actually enjoy washing the dishes once in a while.

5. Practice your passion

Do you know what you want to be when you grow up? Even if you don’t, there are so many fun things you can do, and summer can be the perfect time to discover your passion.

Maybe you’ll end up loving paintings, or designing clothes and jewellery, or even find a new sport you love. Whatever it is, make sure you use your free time to practice and get better at it.

We hope these tips help you spend your

summers in a more productive way. Enjoy!
